George Scott and Robin Yount drove in two runs apiece to lead the Brewers to a 7-4 victory over the Red Sox. Scott accounted for his RBIs with a bases-loaded single in the third inning. A single by Yount accounted for one of the Brewers' three runs in the third. The Red Sox came back with three in their half on two walks, a triple by Dwight Evans and double by Bob Montgomery, but Yount padded the Brewers' lead with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
