Paced by Rick Monday, who drove in five runs, the Cubs extended their winning streak to six games with a 10-9 victory over the Phillies. A homer by Mike Schmidt helped the Phillies take an early lead, but Monday hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning and put the Cubs ahead, 5-2, with a three-run homer in the fifth. After the Phillies picked up a pair in their half, Pete LaCock homered for the Cubs in the sixth to ignite a five-run outburst that included a single by Monday for his fifth RBI.
