. . . where the 1970s live forever!

A six-run outburst by the Rangers in the fifth inning enabled Fergie Jenkins to beat the White Sox, 7-3, for his first victory of the season after two defeats. The Rangers began their big inning when Jim Sundberg singled, Cesar Tovar was hit by a pitch and Lenny Randle walked with one out.

Jeff Burroughs singled to drive in the first run, Mike Hargrove doubled to add two tallies and Jim Spencer tripled for two more. Toby Harrah capped the inning with a single to score Spencer. Jenkins was lifted after 7 2/3 innings and Steve Foucault, who relieved, gave up a two-run homer by Deron Johnson in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
