On the verge of his fifth straight loss, Wilbur Wood came out a winner instead when the White Sox rallied for four runs in the ninth inning to defeat the Twins, 4-3. Bert Blyleven, who had the White Sox in check with four hits, lost his stuff and was removed after giving up two runs on a homer by Carlos May, triple by Ken Henderson and single by Lee Richard. After Tom Burgmeier relieved, Deron Johnson batted for Tony Muser and hit the first pitch for a homer to turn the game around. [The Sporting News]
