The Dodgers ran their winning streak to five games, rallying for three runs in the eighth to edge the Braves, 4-3. Pinch-hitter Manny Mota singled off second baseman Marty Perez' glove to drive home Jim Wynn and Steve Garvey with the tying and winning runs. Lee Lacy and Wynn opened the frame by drawing walks off Braves' reliever Tom House. Garvey doubled off the bag at third to score Lacy, setting the stage for Mota, who was batting for Willie Crawford.

Garvey drove in the first Dodger run in the sixth with a two-out single. The Braves built a 3-0 lead, scoring twice inthe  second on singles by Earl Williams, Dusty Baker and Mike Lum and a groundout. Their third marker was added in the fifth on Darrell Evans' sacrifice fly after singles by Ralph Garr and Perez. [The Sporting News]
