. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Boosting his career record against the Indians to 11-3, Rudy May tossed a four-hitter, with three-RBI support from Alex Johnson, as the Yankees stopped Cleveland, 6-1. New York combed former teammate Fritz Peterson for four runs in the first on singles by Roy White, Elliott Maddox and Thurman Munson and Johnson's two-run triple, followed by a sacrifice fly by Graig Nettles.

Munson singled home the winners' fifth run in the second. Bobby Bonds singled, swiped second, took third on an error and crossed the plate with the final New York run in the seventh on Johnson's sacrifice fly. John Ellis homered off May for the lone Indian tally in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
