Wasting no time, Bobby Bonds swung at the second pitch delivered by reliever Bob Reynolds and smashed a homer with two men on base to climax the rally that gave the Yankees a 6-4 victory over the Orioles. A homer by Tommy Davis and two-run double by Dave Duncan paced the Orioles to a 4-2 lead before the Yankees began their rally in the ninth with a run on singles by Walt Williams, Roy White and Elliott Maddox. The Orioles then brought in Reynolds to replace Grant Jackson in a move that failed when Bonds hit his homer. [The Sporting News]
