Jerry Koosman not only pitched a four-hit shutout but also drove in the Mets' first run with a single in a 3-0 victory over the Expos. Koosman's hit came with two out in the second inning and scored Jack Heidemann, who had tripled. Doubles by Rusty Staub and John Milner produced another run in the fifth and the final marker crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Felix Millan in the eighth.
