The Royals took advantage of two errors and scored a pair of unearned runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Rangers, 6-5. Hal McRae reached second on an error by Roy Howell and Harmon Killebrew walked. McRae advanced to third after George Brett flew out and scored on a single by Jim Wohlford. Rodney Scott, running for Killebrew, took third on Wohlford's hit and scored what proved to be the winning run on a wild throw by Jim Sundberg during a rundown. [The Sporting News]
