Homers by Earl Williams and Ralph Garr helped the Braves take full advantage of the Phillies' faulty fielding to gain a 7-3 victory. Only two of the Braves' runs off Walt Twitchell were earned. In the first inning, Garr was safe on a fumble by Tommy Hutton and Marty Perez singled. Darrell Evans forced Perez, but a wild throw by Larry Bowa, attempting a double play, allowed Garr to score.

Mike Lum singled to drive in Evans and Williams followed with a homer for two more runs. In the fourth, after Larvell Blanks singled and Buzz Capra was awarded first on catcher's interference by Bob Boone, Garr hit a three-run homer. [The Sporting News]
