. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After failing to hold a 6-2 lead, the Twins scored on a single by Rod Carew with two out in the ninth inning to defeat the Indians, 7-6. The Twins had a two-run homer by Larry Hisle in the first en route to taking their lead. However, the Indians rallied to tie the score in the sixth with a homer by Jack Brohamer, two-run blast by Boog Powell and run-scoring double by Ed Crosby.

In the ninth, Steve Braun walked and gave way to pinch-runner Dan Ford, who moved to second on a sacrifice by Danny Thompson. After Tony Oliva was retired as a pinch-hitter for Steve Brye, Carew came through with his winning single. [The Sporting News]
