. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Adrian Garrett's first homer of the season, a three-run blast in the sixth, wiped out a San Diego lead and made 3-2 winners of the Cubs, who salvaged the finale of a three-game set with the Padres. Garrett connected off loser Dan Spillner after a walk to Rick Monday and Spillner's error on a ground ball by Champ Summers. The Padres held a 2-0 lead after five innings as the result of Bobby Tolan's RBI singles in the first and third innings, Johnny Grubb scoring each time. [The Sporting News]
