Harmon Killebrew smashed two homers and drove in four runs to pace the Royals to a 10-1 romp over the Orioles. The big slugger's first blast came in the opening frame with Fred Patek on base via a walk. His second clout came in the third with Amos Otis, who had doubled, on base. It was the 47th time Killebrew hit as many as two homers in one game and raised his career total to 566.

The Royals had a big seventh inning on an RBI double by Jim Wohlford, bases-loaded triple by Buck Martinez and sacrifice fly by Patek. The Orioles' only run came in the seventh when Bobby Grich walked, moved to third on Ken Singleton's single and scored as Lee May bounced into a double play. [The Sporting News]
