The A's spotted the Indians a 5-0 lead but then came back to capture the contest, 10-5. Billy Williams' three-run homer in the fourth inning started the comeback and Sal Bando's RBI single in the fourth cut the Tribe margin to one run. A four-run sixth put the A's ahead to stay. The inning was highlighted by a run-scoring single by Gene Tenace that tied the game and a pair of bases-loaded walks off reliever Blue Moon Odom, who was making his first appearance against his ex-mates since being traded.
