Rookie first baseman Keith Hernandez drove in two runs with his first major league homer and added another RBI with a single to lead the Cardinals to a 6-2 victory over the Dodgers. The homer broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning. Earlier, Hernandez had singled a run home in the second inning. Dodgers' runs came on Ivan DeJesus' double, a sacrifice and a wild pitch in the sixth and Ron Cey's homer in the seventh. Ken Reitz iced the game for the Cards with a two-run single in the eighth.
