Bruce Bochte singled for the Angels' lone hit in the third inning. Singer, who struck out 10, gave up three hits. The first two were harmless singles by Al Bumbry and Bobby Grich before Robinson ripped into the first pitch thrown by Singer in the eighth to hand the Angels their fifth straight defeat.
