The combination of Vern Ruhle's two-hit pitching and Willie Horton's two-run homer carried the Tigers to a 2-0 victory over the White Sox. Dan Meyer singled in the fourth inning before Horton hit for the circuit off Jim Kaat. Ruhle's shutout was the first of the rookie righthander's major league career. [The Sporting News]
