A three-run double by Chris Chambliss and two-run homer by Bobby Bonds carried the Yankees to an 8-4 victory over the Rangers, who suffered their eighth defeat in the last nine games. The Yankees broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning when Fred Stanley singled, Elliott Maddox walked and Roy White singled to load the bases for Chambliss' double.
