Two homers by Bobby Murcer, each with a man on base, featured the Giants' scoring outburst in the last three innings of a 13-5 victory over the Expos. Jake Brown drove in three runs with a double in the first, but the Expos came back to tie the score before the Giants walked their way into the lead again with three runs in the seventh. Four passes forced in the first run and Marc Hill then singled to drive in two more.

Murcer smashed his first homer of the game in the eighth and Willie Montanez also hit for the circuit to produce another trio for the Giants, who ended their scoring with four runs in the ninth, two scoring on Murcer's second homer. The Expos had circuit clouts by Larry Parrish, Pete Mackanin, Mike Jorgensen and Gary Carter, but all came with the bases empty. [The Sporting News]
