Dave Parker and Willie Stargell each homered with two men on base and Richie Zisk batted in three runs with a single and homer to account for the Pirates' scoring in a 9-2 victory over the Reds. Parker, a native of Cincinnati, celebrated his 24th birthday by whacking his homer in the first inning to cap a five-run outbrust. Zisk singled to bat in the first two runs. The Pirates wrapped up their slugging in the fourth when Rennie Stennett and Al Oliver singled and Stargell and Zisk followed with consecutive homers. [The Sporting News]
