Catfish Hunter allowed only four hits and pitched his fourth shutout of the season as the Yankees defeated the White Sox, 3-0, before a Bat Day crowd of 53,562. Ron Blomberg, coming off the disabled list to play his first game since May 4, had three hits in three official trips for the Yankees and Thurman Munson drove in two runs with a pair of singles.
