The Giants snapped a six-game losing streak behind the pitching of Pete Falcone, who defeated the Padres, 3-1. A walk to Bobby Murcer, an infield out and single by Gary Thomasson started the Giants' scoring in the fourth inning. Their two other runs followed in the sixth on a double by Chris Speier, pass to Thomasson, single by Steve Ontiveros and sacrifice fly by Dave Rader.
