Nate Colbert, who was obtained from the Tigers and collected his first two hits in an Expos' uniform, doubled in the 10th inning and scored on a single by Pete Mackanin to defeat the Mets, 7-6. The Mets broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth, scoring three runs on a double by Ed Kranepool and single by Gene Clines.

The Expos came back with a homer by Bob Bailey in their half before tying the score in the ninth. Tony Scott was hit by a pitch and was forced by Pepe Frias.
