Rarely a home-run hitter, Ted Sizemore came through with a circuit clout in the eighth inning when the Cardinals scored all their runs to defeat the Expos, 4-3. Doug Howard led off the stanza with a pinch-single. After Mike Tyson came in to run, Lou Brock popped up, but Sizemore then hit his first homer since July 28, 1974, and only the 14th of his major league career.
