Rusty Staub and Dave Kingman each drove in a pair of runs and rookie Randy Tate hurled a four-hitter to give the Mets a 5-2 victory over the Phillies. Staub singled home a tally in the first frame and delivered another with a sacrifice fly in the third. Kingman's bases-loaded single snapped a 2-2 tie in the fifth.
