The Astros loaded the bases against Carl Morton in the sixth, but failed to score when Milt May grounded into a double play. Morton then gave up a run on a walk and singles by Wilbur Howard and Greg Gross in the eighth before yielding the mound to Max Leon, who got out of the inning without further scoring.
