Ending a personal three-game losing streak, Vida Blue scattered seven hits and pitched the Athletics to a 3-0 victory over the Tigers. The A's scored only two runs for Blue in his three losses. This time, Gene Tenace came to his help, driving in two runs, one with a double in the second inning and the other with a single in the seventh.
