The Braves came back with a pair in the seventh on a homer by Dave May, pass to Larvell Blanks, single by Rod Gilbreath and sacrifice fly by Mike Lum, but the Padres clinched their victory with another run in the eighth on a double by Bobby Tolan and single by Gene Locklear.
