The Royals took advantage of two errors by Buddy Bell to score three unearned runs in the seventh in a 6-4 victory over the Indians. After one out in the seventh, Al Cowens was safe on Bell's high throw to first. Bob Stinson forced Cowens and Fred Patek walked, bringing in Jim Bibby to pitch for Dennis Eckersley. Stinson then scored when Bell booted Cookie Rojas' grounder. Amos Otis followed with a two-run single.
