Skip Lockwood, who pitched five innings of scoreless relief, received credit for his first N. L. victory when the Mets defeated the Padres, 8-4. Lockwood took over after the Padres had rapped George Stone for four runs in the second to take a 4-3 lead. The Mets tied the score in their half with a double by Gene Clines and single by Felix Millan.
