Seaver gave up a run on a triple by Bake McBride and a wild pitch in the first before being lifted in the third when the Cardinals tacked on a pair with singles by McBride and Willie Davis, an error on a pickoff throw, sacrifice fly by Keith Hernandez and single by Ted Simmons.
