San Diego tied the score in the ninth on a run-scoring wild pitch by reliever Charlie Hough. Los Angeles had taken a 5-3 lead in the seventh on an RBI double by Lee Lacy, sacrifice fly by Steve Garvey and run-scoring single by Ron Cey.
