Although chased in the sixth inning, Tom Seaver was able to receive credit for his 22nd victory when the Mets defeated the Phillies, 5-4. Skip Lockwood relieved and saved the decision for Seaver. Rusty Staub hit two sacrifice flies and Mike Phillips added one for the Mets, who took advantage of three errors to score four unearned runs.
