. . . where the 1970s live forever!

Making their debut under new manager Alex Grammas, the Brewers jumped on Catfish Hunter for five runs in the first two innings and shut out the Yankees, 5-0, behind the four-hit hurling of Jim Slaton. Hank Aaron was the Brewers' big gun, driving in three runs with two singles, one of them coming with the bases loaded in the first. The victory, achieved before a crowd of 44,868 in sunny but chilly 44-degree weather, marked the third straight year that the Brewers had won their home opener. [The Sporting News]
