Making his N. L. debut, Mickey Lolich lasted only two innings and was the loser when the Expos defeated the Mets, 7-6. Lolich got past the first inning, but then gave up three runs in the second on a single by Pete Mackanin, the pitcher's boot of a bunt, a double by Bombo Rivera and single by Jerry White. The Expos scored what proved to be their winning run off Bob Apodaca in the eighth when White batted in Rivera with a single for his second RBI of the game. [The Sporting News]
