The Reds were slow in getting their attack underway, but finally erupted for five runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Braves, 6-1, before an Atlanta opening night crowd of 37.973. Ken Henderson homered for the Braves in the first and Dave Concepcion tied the score with a drive in the seventh before the Reds exploded in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
