Tim Foli finished hitting for the cycle with a homer as the Expos completed the previous day's suspended game with a 12-6 victory before the Cubs came back to take the regularly-scheduled contest, 5-4, in 11 innings. Foli had a single, double and triple before darkness forced the clubs to halt play after six innings with the Expos leading, 11-3. When the game resumed, Foli came up in the eighth and smashed his homer to become the first Expos' player to hit for the cycle.

In the regularly-scheduled game, Bill Madlock and Jerry Morales hit homers on consecutive pitches to tie the score for the Cubs in the fifth inning. Then in the 11th, Morales doubled and scored the winning run on a single by Mike Adams. [The Sporting News]
