A surprise double steal enabled the Orioles to score three runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Angels, 4-2. Paul Blair opened the frame with a single and Bobby Grich walked. With Andres Mora at the plate, the Angels charged in for a possible bunt and that was when the Orioles worked the double steal.

Catcher Andy Etchebarren's throw to third was wild and Blair scored. Grich reached third on the error and came home on a sacrifice fly by Mora. Tony Muser followed with a single and Brooks Robinson doubled for the third run. [The Sporting News]
