Ted Sizemore, back with the Dodgers after five seasons with the Cardinals, rapped three hits including a run-scoring double, to help beat his former teammates, 5-1. Sizemore went into the game hitting only .197. After the Cards scored in the second inning on a double by Ron Fairly and single by Hector Cruz, Steve Yeager homered in the Dodgers' half. Then in the third, Glenn Burke singled and Sizemore doubled to break the tie and send the Dodgers ahead to stay.
