Johnny Bench belted his third homer in two games and Dan Driessen also hit for the circuit as the Reds defeated the Expos, 6-1. Don Gullett, who started for the Reds, allowed only four hits before being lifted for a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning. Driessen homered in the fourth to touch off a three-run outburst by the Reds. Bench's blow came in the fifth after Ken Griffey reached base on an error and Driessen walked. [The Sporting News]
