Completing a sweep of the four-game series, the Rangers used three home runs to defeat the Red Sox, 6-3. After the Rangers fell behind, 3-0, Tom Grieve hit for the circuit in the fifth inning and Mike Hargrove connected with a man on base in the sixth. Then in the eighth, after Lenny Randle and Hargrove hit singles, Jeff Burroughs belted a homer to provide the Rangers' winning blow.
