Getting the benefit of a three-run homer by Doug Rader, Randy Jones brought his record to 5-1 by pitching the Padres to a 4-2 victory over the Pirates. The game was scoreless until the sixth inning when the Padres exploded for all their runs on triples by Jerry Turner and Willie Davis, an intentional pass to Willie McCovey and Rader's homer.
