After Amos Otis hit his third homer in two games, Cookie Rojas stepped into the picture with three RBIs to help the Royals defeat the Red Sox, 8-4. Otis' homer in the fifth inning tied the score at 2-2. The Royals went ahead with a run in the sixth and took command with two more in the seventh on a single by Rojas with the bases loaded. After the Red Sox rallied for a pair in the eighth, the Royals finished the scoring with three runs in the ninth, one of them counting on a sacrifice fly by Rojas.
