Ed Figueroa and Mickey Rivers, both winter-deal acquisitions from the Angels, took leading roles as the Yankees defeated their former teammates, 4-2. Figueroa picked up credit for the decision, pitching 7 2/3 innings, while Rivers had three hits, stole two bases and scored twice.
