Aided by three unearned runs, Jim Palmer pitched the Orioles to a 5-3 victory over the Brewers. Mark Belanger was safe on an error by Don Money with one away in the first inning and scored on a double by Reggie Jackson. After the second out, Andres Mora singled to drive in Jackson.

Another error by Money then led to a second pair of tainted tallies in the fourth. Ken Singleton reached base on a wild throw by Money and runs followed on a double by Dave Duncan, sacrifice fly by Brooks Robinson and single by Paul Blair. [The Sporting News]
