After rallying for five runs to tie the score in the ninth inning, the Yankees exploded for five more in the 16th and defeated the Indians, 11-6. Sandy Alomar walked to open the 16th and when Roy White bunted, Jim Kern threw wildly, Alomar going to third and White reaching first safely. Alomar was out at the plate on a grounder by Thurman Munson, but Chris Chambliss walked to load the bases and Lou Piniella singled to drive in two tie-breaking tallies. [The Sporting News]
