Although forced to call on three relief pitchers, the Phillies edged the Mets, 2-1, for their 11th straight road victory. The Phillies put together singles by Dave Cash, Larry Bowa and Jerry Martin for a run in the fourth inning and added their deciding tally in the fifth when Bowa doubled and Mike Schmidt singled.
