John Mayberry smashed four hits including a home run, and Fred Patek added two singles and a double as the Royals defeated the Twins, 5-1, for their 16th triumph in 19 games. Mayberry homered in the fourth inning and doubled and scored in a three-run sixth while Dennis Leonard coasted on a four-hitter. [The Sporting News]
