The Rangers scored nine runs in the second inning, routing Nolan Ryan, to defeat the Angels, 9-0, in a game called in the sixth inning because of rain and a hail storm. The loser of his fourth start in a row, Ryan walked five in the second inning and gave up doubles to Tom Grieve and Dave Moates before being relieved by Andy Hassler.
