The Indians snapped a four-game losing streak in sweeping a doubleheader from the Brewers, 2-1 and 8-5. Jackie Brown needed only three more outs for his second successive shutout in the opener. Then a double by Darrell Porter and Bob Hansen's single scored the Milwaukee run. Relievers Dave LaRoche and Jim Kern put out the fire.

DH John Lowenstein drove in four runs with a double and single for the Indians in the nightcap. After getting a save in the opener, Kern blanked the Brewers in six innings to get the win in the second game after relieving Fritz Peterson. [The Sporting News]
